Margherita Colombo è direttrice d’orchestra, pianista e compositrice.

Si è diplomata in Direzione d’orchestra sotto la guida del M° Daniele Agiman presso il Conservatorio “G. Verdi” di Milano nel 2010 concludendo un brillante e variegato percorso di studi che comprende il Diploma in Pianoforte (M° Mario Boselli), il Biennio per Maestri collaboratori (M° Umberto Finazzi), il Diploma in Composizione (M° Fulvio Delli Pizzi), il corso triennale di Alto Perfezionamento pianistico dell’Accademia Musicale Pescarese (M° Paolo Bordoni), numerose Masterclasses in Italia e all’estero tenute da rinomati Maestri (Aldo Ciccolini, Joaquin Achucarro, Sergio Perticaroli, Jeffrey Swan).  Attualmente riveste la posizione di direttrice d’orchestra presso il il Landestheater Niederbayern con sede a Passau (Germania) dove dirige numerose produzioni operistiche e sinfoniche alla guida della Niederbayerische Philharmonie. Ha diretto la Gewandhausorchester di Lipsia e numerose orchestre e ensemble strumentali e vocali in Italia, Germania, Svizzera e Albania. Ha inoltre lavorato in numerosi teatri come maestro collaboratore e sostituto (tra gli altri si ricordano l’Opera di Lipsia, il Teatro di Nordhausen, Ticino Musica, il Teatro Donizetti di Bergamo, il Teatro Sao Carlos di Lisbona, i Teatri di Campobasso e Potenza, il Festival lirico di Casamari e Aslico). Come pianista solista e in formazioni cameristiche Margherita Colombo ama esplorare ogni repertorio con grande passione per la ricerca musicologica, indagando le relazioni tra musica e società (tra i prossimi progetti, un ciclo di concerti dedicati alle compositrici e alla loro società).  Tiene regolarmente corsi e masterclass per pianisti e direttori con particolare riguardo per l’opera e per la professione di maestro collaboratore, incoraggiando i giovani pianisti ad avvicinarsi al repertorio operistico con attenzione verso lo studio della partitura e del suono “orchestrale” anche al pianoforte.

 

Margherita Colombo is a conductor, pianist, and composer. She received her diploma in orchestral direction under the tutelage of  D. Agiman from the “G. Verdi” Conservatory in Milan in 2010, completing a course of studies including a Diploma in Piano (with M. Boselli), a Masters as a Répétiteur in Opera (with U. Finazzi), a Diploma in Composition (with F. Delli Pizzi), a Masters in Piano at the Pescara Music Academy (with P. Bordoni), and numerous master classes held by renowned masters (with A. Ciccolini, J. Achucarro, S. Perticaroli and J. Swann). Colombo is the first Kapellmeister at the Landestheater Niederbayern, Germany since 2017. In this position she has conducted numerous symphonic performances and concerts with the Niederbayerische Philharmonie; she has conducted major orchestras including the Gewandhausorchester of Leipzig Opera in several productions, the Loh-Orchestra Nordhausen, the National Opera in Tirana and may others, and she worked with several Theatres all around Europe including the Oper Leipzig, Sao Carlos Theatre in Lisbon, Donizetti Theatre in Bergamo, Ticino Musica in Switzerland, Nordhausen Theatre and many other festivals and theatres. As a pianist and chamber musician, she loves to explore every repertoire  with passion for the musicological research, exploring the relationship between music and society (her next project will present a cycle of concerts and lessons about women composers and their society). She is regularly invited to held courses and masterclasses for pianists and conductors with major attention to the profession of repetiteur, encouraging her students to approach the operatic repertoire with attention to the details in the partiture and to reach an “orchestral” sound at piano.
